Did you know that there is an aging 62-year-old oil pipeline in the beautiful bridge area? If you grew up in Battle Creek like me or any Michigan city, you know of the damage which was caused by the leak in the Kalamazoo River.
With the area around the bridge for many miles, being a national Summer Vacation Area, and the Great Lakes being all connected, one oil spill could ruin economy and ecology of places like Mackinaw Island and send the damage out to all the Great Lakes.
